I am currently on maternity leave with my 4 month old twin girls. Being a Norwegian living in Australia, I can at times find it very hard to swallow that I’m not receiving the same great income benefits as my childhood friends back in Norway while on leave with my babies. Luckily I have found a great way to make money while on maternity leave – doing affiliate marketing.

I currently own and manage two sites including this one, and my latest site www.twinsformation.com was only created after the birth of my twin girls. I must admit I find it easier to write content on my twins related site that this one (yes, I am blatantly honest), however, receiving those monthly checks from the affiliate programs I take part in on this site gives me a great sense of achievement. Not to mention they help pay bills that unfortunately don’t stop while I am in this sleep deprived existence with my baby girls.

In this article I want to share with you the complete and utter truth of our online business; where we came from and where we are at present. I’ve decided to write this article because at the beginning of our online business journey I had so many questions and I had absolutely no online business experience – this is my truth about running an online business.

We started out by doing the usual searches such as “how to make money online,” “how to start an online business,” even “how to get rich in online business”. As you yourself probably know typing such phrases into a google search engine will bring up a thousand different sites all targeted at selling you the online dream business and of course at a cost. The problems is that although many of these sites may be well worth the investigation most I’d say at least 95% of them give limited to nearly no information and they expect you to start paying to get full access to their sites where usually its just another load of get-rich-quick lies and (pardon the French) bullshit!

Look no further. About a year ago we decided to get serious about making money online. That being said, I had thought about it for years – that I should look into online business as surely there must be untapped opportunities…but I never really took it any further than those initial thoughts. The main reason was simple – I had no idea what to promote. I had nothing tangible to sell, and not one particular interest that I could see myself making money from. Now, knowing what I know about online marketing, I realise that I could have (and still can) make money online from just about anything.
